Free CET for ABDO members

“In addition to the extensive CET provided by the Association, ABDO is pleased to announce a unique and exclusive offer - following negotiations with ABDO’s Head of Professional Services, Elaine Grisdale FBDO, The Optometry Blog is now offering free CET for all ABDO registered dispensing opticians.

The Optometry Blog now offers all of its Dispensing accredited CET (this equates to 90% of the CET it currently offers online) free of charge to all ABDO registered members and it also guarantees that CET points are uploaded within the week of completion (subsequent a successful test result).

The CET articles are all accredited for 12 months (i.e. until the end of the current CET period in December 2009) and are available to download from The Optometry Blog website in the following formats:

• Audio Podcast
• Text based distance learning article
• Visual recognition quizzes

We are now in the final year of the current CET Period and it is a requirement that all CET points must be uploaded to CETOptics in advance of the Scheme deadline which ends on 31.12.2009 otherwise they will not count for the current CET cycle. To that end, the Optometry Blog will set the final entry date for all test submissions as Monday 30th November 2009. This will allow time to answer all queries and have all test submissions marked before the Scheme end.
