Frannie, Fight for Sight and her College Council Team for the London 10K

regency_run_2.JPGFrancesca Marchetti woke up on 6th April at 7am to do her first 10K run in aid of Fight for Sight and to her amazement it was a complete “white out ” outside.

However the Royal Leamington Spa Regency Run went ahead; it was like running through Santa’s Grotto and Fairyland all mixed together. Underfoot was slushy and she was running through ice cold puddles (her trainers are now ruined).

The running was slightly slow due to worrying about slipping and sliding around the perimeter of the golf course…but after a continuous pace Frannie came in at 55mins.02 secs, burned 419 calories 20%fat burn and average heart rate 169 beats per minute!regency_run_6.JPG

Francesca, College Councillor for the West Midlands, has bravely put together a team of ‘runners’ from the College of Optometrists Council. In aid of Fight for Sight, the team, which includes Scott Mackie, John Lawrenson, David Cartwright, Tony Trowsdale, Kamlesh Gohill, Sarah Farrant, Sanjay Patel and myself, Jane Macnaughton, will be running in the London 10K on July 6th.

Where there’s a will…
