Free Optical CET

Welcome to the Optometry Blog’s Continuing Education and training (CET). The Optometry Blog is a unique and innovative way to receive your CET on an ongoing basis. It provides the opportunity to receive regular CET Podcast articles for consumption at a time of your convenience which are accredited by the GOC, AOI, SAOA & OAA and are written by prominent and globally respected members of the Optical community.

CET articles are available in the following formats:
• Audio Podcast
• Text based distance learning article
• Visual recognition quizzes (VRT / VRICS)

You may opt to receive notification via the Optometry Blog’s RSS feed that a new CET podcast is available for download.

Once you have listened to the Podcast you may take the Multiple Choice Questionnaire (MCQ) online and your CET points are awarded accordingly. 

How do I listen to the Podcast?

Several articles have been additionally recorded as Podcasts.  These audio files are free to download onto your MP3 player for listening to whilst you are away from home or work.  Alternatively you may listen to them online, whichever is most convenient.

Who writes the articles?

All of the articles that are available for download on the Optometry Blog are written by leading people within their field of expertise. We have College of Optometrists examiners, university lecturers, pioneering optometrists with a passion for their field of expertise and also newly qualified Optometrists who are widely recognised by their peers as having a bright future within the optical sector all contributing on a regular basis. So you will have access to a wide variety of interesting and challenging CET which is not available elsewhere.

How much is it?

The Optometry Blog’s CET program is Free.  In addition you will also be able to make comments on each article, ask questions or feedback directly to the author.

What topics will be covered? 

We aim to cover a wide variety of topics and sbject mater. If you would like to see a particular topic covered please feel free to let us know by using the contact us section of the Blog.

 

By simply filling out the online registration form you will then be asked to create a username and password which is used to access the site. By then logging in you will have access to the Free CET articles which will be available for download.
