How to write a CV - Part Three
So here we are with the third part of how to write a CV. With the first two parts we discussed the content and how to make it read well so that it will have a maximum impact when landing on your prospective employers desk.
When it does land on their desk, the content within it is vital, as we discussed, however the language we use, the tense and message we give across are also as important. Remember: The way in which you say something is as important as what you say.
For example, if we are talking about our achievements to date it is vitally important to highlight the positive results and the way it then affected the situation. Remember, A good CV is all about selling yourself so make the information relevant and positive but also do not be tempted to wax lyrical about your achievements, make it short but fact filled.
Some guidelines then:
- Present tense where applicable
- Do not write in the third person
- Always write positively
- Focus on what was acheived and the benefit
So with this in place we can now look to put together the CV - Good Luck.
David.
