How to write a CV - Part Two

bsl019.jpgHere we are then with part two of the Optometry Blogs series “How to write a CV - Part Two” In the first part we discussed organising our content to make sure that we have a comprehensive set of information from which to draw upon. With this in place, we can now look to organise the information into sections.

The golden rule of organising the information is that it must be easy to understand, there is no use in having the best content if the reader cannot understand it. So, how do we organise the information for maximum effect?

The first rule of formatting a CV is to look at the layout and font we are going to use. The layout should be as follows:

  1. Name, address and personal details at the top
  2. Personal statement
  3. Career History - chronologically
  4. Supporting evidence
  5. Interests

The above layout is obviously generic however it will give you a place to start from. In relation to the Font, I would suggest sticking to Arial or Times New Roman in size 12.

Next time we will start looking at maximising the impact the information can have.

    Good Morning Varun,
Thank you for the message - In order for me to help you, please provide a little more information on what is required. I can then answer specfically rather than generically. Best Regards,

    David
